Step two: His media allies repeated it without checking.
Step three: Social media spun it into a wildfire.
Step four: Anyone who questioned it was attacked.
By the time real reporting came in, the fiction had already become part of the political identity. People were defending lies they never stopped to examine in the first place.

Platforms like Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter turned misinformation into fuel. They rewarded the loudest and angriest content. They connected millions of people who were already primed to distrust institutions. MAGA influencers figured out the formula early. They didn’t need facts. Conservative Media Protected Him
Fox News, talk radio, and the right-wing blog ecosystem created a bubble so tight that any conflicting information was treated like an attack. Trump fed them ratings and they fed him loyalty. The more extreme the claim, the more airtime it got.
